Memorandum book, 1861-1863, kept by Charles Lorch, adjutant of the 20th regiment of the New York State Volunteers at Camp Hamilton near Fort Monroe. Entries include personal and regimental accounts, lists of supplies distributed and equipment lost, names and addresses, etc. Also included is a full length carte-de-visite portrait of a soldier, presumably Lorch, in uniform.
